Background information

He was the son of Charles BATEMAN and Elizabeth ROBINS or ROBINSON. With Louisa BAKER he had 6 children.

He began work as a postal telegraph clerk and was a superintendent by the time he retired. He had a reputation within the family for strictness.

The photo was taken around 1918 and included all his grandchildren (click the portrait above to see more). The little girl with the bow is the grandmother of the submitter. Copies were sent to a family member serving in World War I.
