Background information
Elizabeth Isabella COCKBILL was the second child (of 10) and eldest daughter of James COCKBILL and Sarah COCKBILL née BAKER. The COCKBILLs had lived in Oxfordshire for about 200 years. James COCKBILL was the son of William COCKBILL, carpenter, wheelwright, blacksmith and Parish Clerk in Filkins for 42 years. William is mentioned in George Swinford's book Jubilee Boy. His grave is in Filkins parish churchyard.
Elizabeth Isabella married Thomas SMITH of Swindon in 1881. They had 8 children. They moved to Swindon soon after their marriage.
