Background information

His parents were James HALE (1858-1905) of Wantage, and Elizabeth (née LOVEGROVE). His mother later re-married in 1907 to Matthew Thatcher of Faringdon and died in 1950. The date of the photos is c.1905. This HALE family is descended from the HALE family of Kingham, Oxford, via a diversion for a few generations in Sherborne, Gloucestershire.

Harry married Fanny DORSETT and they had 2 children, George and Winifred Rose. He married again around 1920 and had a further 3 children. He was a tailor in the West End of London until about 12 months before his death in 1961 in Willesden.
