Background information

John was born to Henry HEDGES and Jane (née JANAWAY).

At the time of his marriage, he lived in Littlemore, and subsequently in Hockmore Street, Iffley (1832-7), Temple Cowley (1840-3), and Church Cowley (from 1844). By the 1881 census, he was shown living in Temple Cowley with grandson George A Hedges, aged 22 years. At the time of his death he left an estate of £615-14s-2d.

He was married to Alicia BECK (b.1810, d.1889), and together they had 10 children:
