Background information

Kate SLATER was born 7th November 1897 in Waterperry, England. She died 24th November 1981 in Toronto and was interred in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens. 

She was a war bride of the First World War and married John James EDGAR on 26th April 1918 in England.  He was descended from United Empire Loyalists and his Canadian roots preceded Confederation.

The picture shows her aged 18, probably in the grounds of her parental home, The Lodge at Waterperry.
