Background information

Mary Ann's first husband, Thomas LAMBOURN, died in 1858 (buried in Fencot) and in 1872 Mary Ann married John TREADWELL of Westbury, Bucks.  She took with her to the marriage her daughter Elizabeth Susan, who 4 years later (1878) married her now step-sibling, John TREADWELL's son Thomas, in Radclive, Bucks.  He was, incidentally, 9 years younger than her, 22 to her 31 when they married.

The TREDWELLs, LAMBOURNs and TREADWELLs were all farmers.  The photograph was taken probably just before the turn of the century at Bycell Farm, Stowe, Bucks. It shows Mary Ann TREADWELL in the wheel chair, and then standing at her shoulder her daughter Elizabeth Susan (left to right). On either side, there are two of Elizabeth's daughters, Marianne (left) and Lillian (right) TREADWELL.

Elizabeth Susan (née LAMBOURN) TREADWELL, was born in Charlton-on-Otmoor on 10 July 1847, christened there on 17 July 1847.
