Background information

Richard WALTON was the son of Richard WALTON of Yarnton. He was born 20 July 1846 in Yarnton and after attending school in Shipton-on-Stour he worked in a large shop in Aldershot before marrying Fanny CROOK of Carnaby Street, London on the 16 September 1873 at St Mary's Church in St Marylebone.

His occupation was in retail. He and Fanny set up home in Brighton, Sussex, where they raised a family of three boys (Arthur Richard, Frank and Charles) and two daughters (Louise and Alice).

Fanny died in Fleet, Hampshire, on 3 March 1909, as did Richard on 1 March 1914.
