Background information

Violetta was born to Thomas & Mary Ann DENNIS (née LOCK). 

She married my great-grandfather, Bertram Sparrow MONTGOMERY, on 6 April 1885 at St Mary & St John Church, Cowley. Later that year they had moved to Greenwich in Kent (now London) where their first child Bertram Alexander MONTGOMERY was born on 20 October 1885. The couple went on to have a further 9 children.

Violetta died on 19 November 1945 at 88 Rectory Buildings, Crossfield Street, Deptford and the photograph, which was taken in 1942, is taken in the garden there. (Clicking on the portrait above shows more of the garden.)
