Background information
Annie was the daughter of Elezeus who was a carter at Stowford Farm and Elizabeth NEWELL. The NEWELL family comes from Beckley and Cuxham. They were mainly blacksmiths. Annie was one of seven children.
In 1891, they all lived in a small cottage in Water Eaton. In the 1901 census, she was a scullery maid at the Warneford Hospital and she continued in this job until she married Walter.
They had 9 children and 23 grandchildren. They lived near the famous Cutteslowe wall.
