Background information
Georgina Elizabeth KEARSEY was the oldest daughter of Thomas James KEARSEY and his wife Elizabeth, née BURDOCK. She was born at Farmington Farm, Brailes, Warwickshire on
28 November 1849. About 1852 Thomas and Elizabeth KEARSEY took a tenancy at Dustfield Farm, Charlbury from the Duke of Marlborough where Elizabeth was raised.
Elizabeth married Edwin CROSS at
St. Mary’s church in Charlbury on
21 October 1872 at 10am and departed on the 2pm train for America. The couple travelled to Nashville, Tennessee, USA.
They had 8 children. Elizabeth died on
17 September, 1926. She rests besides Edwin in the family plot at Mount Olivet cemetery on Lebanon Road east of Nashville, Tennessee. The accompanying picture is believed to have been taken at their 50th wedding anniversary in 1922.
Elizabeth was my Great Grandmother. I am James Edwin CROSS and I live in Hermitage, Tennessee, USA.
