Background information

H.K.J. BENNELL, known as Ken, was born 16 Sept 1907, Little Frieth, Oxfordshire. He was the youngest son of Henry BENNELL, born Nettlebed, Oxfordshire and Esther HOPKINS, born Chinnor, Oxfordshire.

I don't know when the cricket team picture was taken, but I suspect after 1935.  Ken’s brother, who died in 1935, usually accompanied him, and is not in the picture. The family had moved to High Wycombe by June 1939, where Henry died.

Ken worked in the furniture industry as a saw doctor. He married on 9 Jan 1943 to Helen NEWSTEAD and had 2 children. He remarried in 1963 to Dorothy Winch. Both weddings were in High Wycombe. Ken died in Amersham Hospital, 19 January 1985.
