Second daughter of James COPUS of Watlington and Harriet Ann (née WALTER).

Margaret and one of her sisters, both very pretty girls, are said to have run away from home after their father remarried. Margaret obtained a post as a maid at Studley Priory, and married Thomas COX, a son of the tenant of Whitecross Green Farm. She brought up 8 children at Oddington Grange, remembered with great affection by her grandchildren.
