Background information

Harriet FROUD was baptised 25 March 1855 in the parish church at Wantage, the daughter of George FROUD, a carpenter, and his wife Harriet, née GRUNDY. All of Harriet’s great grandparents are known to have lived in the area: indeed her 4x great-grandfather William LAY was baptised in Wantage 5 October 1636. Harriet and James had ten children: five girls and five boys.

Harriet FROUD was my husband’s great-grandmother.
