Background information

Harriet was one of four children born in England to William WILKINS and Ann (née SLADE). A further five children were born in New Zealand.

She was the second wife of Herman MATTSON.  Herman was born at Balkerod, Parish of Valla, Sweden (later called Island of Tjorn) on 17 Nov 1845. He died on 13 Dec 1911 in Auckland.  They had eight children.
