Background information

Florence May HIGGINS was a member of the Salvation Army. She used to go to the Isle of Wight on holiday to see her brother who was working there, and while there attending the local citadels, she met her husband. After her marriage, she joined the Ryde branch of the Salvation Army, where her husband, brothers, cousins, her children, step-children and her father-in-law, all played in the band.

She died the 9th of March 1948.
