Background information

Elizabeth Lavina NOYES lived in King Street (previously known as Mud Street) where the houses were built in 1830. Her parents were John NOYES and Mary Ann NOYES, née TAGG. She was the fifth daughter of six children.

After her marriage she lived at 30a George Street, Carters Passage, St Clements, Oxford. This was a little tied cottage provided by Christ Church, Alfred HIGGINS’ employer. There were some stables behind the cottage and she was very fond of the horses. When her second child married an Isle of Wight girl, she used to take holidays there. She died aged 82.
