Background information

Hilda was among the seven children of Alfred George and Annie Herbert CLINKARD. Her siblings were Dorothy G, Florence, Ethel, Alfred (younger), Violet and Elsie.

She married Freddie WYATT. He learnt his radio craft from Marconi and was the radio operator of a Handley Page aeroplane which was one of the competitors to be first across the Atlantic, won by Alcock and Brown in a Vickers Vimy.  It is said to have carried the first air mail between Canada and the United States.

Clicking on the portrait above will show her with her brother Alfred George CLINKARD (the younger).
